 Verified We are wrapping up a 10-day trip to Halifax and Cape Breton, staying in various accommodations along the way. Hands down, Whitecap Cottage was the most comfortable, beautiful, and well-situated lodging in which we stayed. We loved listening to the sound of the waves while sitting on the deck, the sweeping view, taking the short walk to the (great!) beach, and enjoying all the first-class amenities. There is no detail left unattended—coffee, filters, dish soap and pods, laundry soap, beach chairs, everything is right there. It is a light and lovely space and as I write this from our rather soulless hotel in Baddeck, I miss it! We hope to return one day. Don’t hesitate to book here, and enjoy your time in Ingonish to its fullest.

 Verified Lisa’s place is gorgeous, and the amount of detail and careful thought that she has put into the space doesn’t go unnoticed. Check in / check out instructions were clear. The accommodation was clean, modern, located close to local attractions and a short 1 minute walk to the beach (located on the property). This was a fantastic stay for our annual girls trip to Ingonish and we can’t wait to return next summer.

 Verified The cottage was beautiful, renovated with modern touches throughout. Our stay with 2 adults and 2 kids (5 and 2yo) was very comfortable. Lisa (host) left a ton of amazing local recommendations and directions. And the beach on property is incredible - soft sand and amazing surroundings. We would absolutely recommend staying here for anyone looking for a home base to explore cape Breton.

 Verified We loved our stay at the Whitecap Cottage. The space was beautiful and had everything we needed, comfy bed, great kitchen, nice bathrooms and big tub as well! Off the livingroom is a great porch facing the water and just a short walk off the porch is a great beach. Lisa was a great host too.

 Verified Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Whitecap Cottage. Lisa has provided everything one would need during their stay. Beds were comfortable and great views from the deck. Location is perfect if playing Highland Links or exploring the many hiking trails nearby.We would definitely stay there again if in the area again.Lisa is a great host. Thanks again for the stay!

I live in Halifax, Nova Scotia with my husband Steve and our Havanese dog, Monte. I fell in love with Cape Breton when I worked there as a teenager. We love riding the Cabot Trail on my husband’s Harley at least once a year (with Monte on board, of course!) Our dream of owning a beachfront property on the Cabot Trail came true in 2023 with Whitecap Cottage. We painstakingly designed the layout to create the best use of space for ourselves and our guests and reveled in decorating and equipping it with everything a vacationer needs. We are beyond excited to be sharing Whitecap Cottage and helping our guests fall in love with Cape Breton Island and beautiful Ingonish.
